New Ketai
Just got another phone yesterday. About $800 in Japan buys you a 3.5G phone, with GPS, digital TV, 3MP camera, and electronic payment built in. And it's reasonably sized. The payment system is cool; just swing it over the till, or subway turnstile, and it beeps out the money. Top up by cash or visa. 3.5G is faster than most people's broadband (~7Mbps). I've even got the phone to play unprotected music...so I got to get myself a set of bluetooth headphones.

Shopping continued today, I finally bought a new pair of trainers. Tomorrow, more shoes. Mister B is right. I've lost thousands on the stock market, I'm about to lose thousands more on property, with the yen at 250 holding cash sucks ass, so the only thing left is to speeeeeeend.

The running is back on, although muchos slower after the holiday. 5km previously 22mins, now 25mins. All that beer isn't easy to lug around.

At work, some tricks and games are afoot. I can't tell if they want me to resign, or they actually have faith. I told my boss' boss in black and white, whilst utterly drunk, that if he ever made me work for someone again, i'd kick him in the nuts, and resign. I get back from holiday, he marches me off to an office, flatters me, and begs me to work for said bloke, indirectly, until the end of the year. The big question is - do I want to be a techie or a manager?

did the advertising sell the phone to you? - "3.2–megapixel auto–focus camera that ensures beautiful–looking skin in every photo"

I had the same dilema a year ago. It worked out for me as I'm still 40% techie.
