Yesterday
I had a few beers with the Russians after work. Vitaly told me about how he searched for his name on the internet, and found his ex-wife, having not contacted her for 14 years. She's kept his name, and is selling hunting dogs over the net. So he got in touch, and told me about an old Russian proverb "Time heals". Some things are human, not Russian. Some people's alcohol tolerance level is human, not Russian, so I scooted off to Shibuya.

I was running late, which is good, because back home I really care about timing. Nowadays, I just can't seem to be ontime. Anyway, 300 yen coin bar, blah blah blah, and Dipesh calls me. It's been 6 months since I've left the UK, and I'm starting to like the way that the people who stay in touch can be counted on a few fingers. I guess there are some people in your life you will never let go of. Everyone else is just there to pad out the spaces between meeting those few. Told him about all the Maybachs' and Brabus' that i've been seeing, and now he's keen on coming over to visit. It'll never materialize, but it's good to know that he'd like to. I got castigated for not bothering to learn Japanese. I guess. Hmm. when I come back from holiday.

Went to one of those small bars in Shibuya after that, which was about 2m squared in size, and met a British dancer guy on tour here who is ethnic Korean, but has a Japanese haircut. He was entertaining, and i'm not sure why. Went back to Ikebukuro with him and Matt, and they got a few more drinks at an Izakaya. I gave up the ghost about 3am, and slept through my alarm. Made it to work an hour late. Oops.

Entertainment on the metro this morning, as some sweaty guy stands up, drops his trousers, draws all attention by coughing loudly, and proceeds to give himself a thorough scratch and tickle. Then spends two stops adjusting his trousers, and sits back down. I was laughing, most people were just doing there Metro Manners and staring at the floor. Unreal.
